The GPOA has three basic fundraising campaigns that we focus on an annual basis. Some private citizens and businesses alike may receive phone calls from our fundraiser to obtain financial support for our annual programs. They are:
New 2009 GPOA Booster Sticker Program
We have begun to distribute our new 2009 Police Association Booster Stickers to all our local contributors who have supported us in years past, or signing up as first time supporters right now.
Your financial help allows the GPOA to fund its community civic programs and provide modest benefits to its 460 Greensboro Police Officer Members, like funding its Police Memorial and Officer Relief Fund.
Community funding in years past has allowed the GPOA to:
ï Distribute ìHoliday Food Basketsî for underprivileged families in the Triad
ï Build a little league ball field at Colfax School, and sponsor youth athletics
ï Assist ìspecial needsî teachers at Mckiver School with basic life skills programs
ï Sponsor a ìStudent of the Week Programî recognizing students for citizenship
ï Publishing our Childrenís Drug, Alcohol, and Gang Awareness Book
ï Distribute Child ID Kits, providing a way for parents to fight back in abductions
By making a contribution, you will receive an official receipt and our supporter decal to display on your car, home, or office showing that you support your local Police Officers Association.
Your donation in any amount is greatly appreciated. You will receive an official receipt and a GPOA Booster decal to display, showing that you support your local police. Please call our Program Manager (299-3579) if you have questions.
Thanks for helping us make this year one to remember for our members and the local underprivileged kids who are the focus of our civic work.

Members Corner
New GPOA Intranet
We now have our own Intranet up and running. The intranet will provide our members to securely communicate with each other, the GPOA Board, allow members to participate in Polls on current issues, participate in our Forum, email(IM) within the GPOA and much more. Such as a private calendar, a public calendar so members can securely see upcoming GPOA events, be able to post news for other members to read, receive messages from the Board, etc.
This is designed to keep the members of the GPOA up-to-date with the information regarding the GPOA in a very secure environment. You will be notified soon on how to login to the intranet. If you would like, you can call Gavin Naquin and he will talk you through it. It is very easy to login and the Intranet interface is very user friendly. Information has already been posted on the intranet for you to read. The login link is at the top of the menu on the left of this page.
Promotional Process Proposal
President Wendy Raines compiled a comprehensive promotional process proposal and submitted it to Police Chief T.R. Bellamy for review. The purpose of the proposal is to provide Chief Bellamy with information to modify the current GPD Promotional Process to make it a fair, practical and widely adopted Promotional Process for Police Officers. Wendy obtained information from several sources such as Hickory PD., Indiana State Police, Police Chief Magazine, Los Angeles PD and more.
