On August 7th, 2001, the Greensboro Police Department once again lost a valued member from our ranks. David Taylor will be sorely missed.
David began is career on July 2, 1990, and was currently assigned as the Technical Services Detective within the Greensboro Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Unit. Dave was also an admired member of the Department's Bomb Team. His comprehension of the inner workings and technical aspects of a piece of equipment was unbelievable. He could fix or create almost anything. He took great pride in the layout and design of the Greensboro Police Department's Bomb Team Response Vehicle. Following David's death, the Bomb Team, out of respect and tribute to him, proudly named the truck "Dave."
It is also an honor to David that to this day, officers still smile and tell "Dave Taylor" stories. Through his work ethic and sense of volunteerism, he leaves many happy memories and a huge void.
It was my privilege to have known and worked alongside David L. Taylor. We will all miss you Brother.
